Trolling From A Sailboat?

    Nothing to apologize about - that sounds exhilarating and crazy. A LOT of water moves through there.

    Cool story man. I have trolled behind a sailboat a few times between panama city beach and port st joe back when I was in the sea scouts. We were just kind of tossing lines behind us, not going out of our way to pass structure or anything . We caught a lot of spanish mac, a few sharks and 1 mahi. Bites were super sporadic and spread out though. Was a 12 hr sail once we hit the gulf and we maybe caught 4-5 fish each time. We also only pulled gotchas if I remember right. So I'm sure passing structure and bottom and using more variety of lures and chasing birds/bait could be MUCH more effective.
