Braid With Mono Leader, Wind On?

All of my reels are spooled with braid, 30, 50, and 80 lbs depending on the reel. I have read I need to use a mono or fluoro "shock" leader. I would prefer wind on style leaders. Should I buy pre made wind ons, tie braid to mono or flouro with a FG knot, or do something else entirely. Depending on the lure and place in my spread wire may be necessary, but only about 6 feet of wire for the toothy guys like mackeral and wahoo. It's easy to attach a wire loop to a mono or fluoro leader with crimps if you don't have to wind on the wire, so my big question is how to handle the braid to mono connection.

    Thanks,

    David

I use the uni to uni when I put braid on my reels. I use mono as the backing on my reels so the braid doesn't slip. That's an awesome link for tying knots. Thanks

Uni for me to. Anyone double over their braided before attaching fluorocarbon? I had a guy show me that, but I forgot what knot he used. Said it keeps the braid from cutting the fluorocarbon.

I always use the uni to uni knot for that application. I also prefer 12' -15' leaders when trolling.
