Gold spoons. Slow retrieve, they spook easy. Try not to cast right on top of them in shallow water, cast past them a retrieve slow

I just watched a DVD on Capt Mark Nichols of DOA Baits in Stuart. He swears by DOA CAL shad tail bait in white for snook or red drum. A lot of the Lagoon fishermen use the Assassin jerk baits and have good luck. I catch a few reds while flattie fishing with new penny Gulp shrimp as the reds are mostly bottom feeders.

I like using the saltwater assassins paddle tails for reds. The paddle tail creates a vibration that the reds can't resist. Color depends on water clarity. If water is murky, I use darker colors, if the water is clear, I like using white or lighter colors. My go to color though is the Chicken on a chain with chartreuse tail.
