Wife and I just started planning a trip there, but open to suggestions of other areas. Will be using truck camper pulling 23ft boat. Looking for place to launch or leave boat in a slip for the week,.and a campground. Be there Dec 30th,any suggestions on where to shrimp, will need to buy equipment ,also want to fish. Short notice hope we will find openings at campgrounds. Will check board if there are any get togethers for shrimping. We plan on 2 weeks first week probably in that area ,maybe someone will suggest a location for second week ,Thanks Larry

The shrimping in Apalachicola isn't known for recreational shrimping.
If you plan on shrimping you should look in New Smyrna beach, edgewater or Oakhill.
These are the primary shrimping areas for recreational shrimping and the fishing is pretty good, it's also close to Ponce inlet if your interested in saltwater fishing.
Plenty on campgrounds in the area with a few right on the water

Yep, what Ken said. Do not see to many posting here about that area. Staying in Oak Hill area, and visiting New Smyrna Beach area I do not think you will be disappointed.

Great article. I copied that recipe because it sounds like anew twist of cooking shrimp. Always looking to try something new.
