Hey guys, do you have a dive group? I would be interested in joining, taking my boat out and going out with others. I usually go out of Ponce Inlet and like Marathon road trips. I will go anywhere in search of lobster, stone crab and lion fish. Will shoot fish also.

I've been certified since 1985. Have several beep dives under my belt. Not nitrox cert. But I guess I can get it. Several 200 plus foot dives but that was when I was young and dumb. Love to get into it again

The girlfriend is getting her certification sept 10th and we will start diving in various places throughout the state.
We're planning on getting nitrox certified in the next couple of months.
We're not diving really deep like shrimpmansteve above but we will be diving frequently.
If you're planning a dive and you want company just post your plans ahead of time and we'll take it from there.
We also spearfish and use Hawaiian slings. I have a GoPro and will be shooting video and pics.
There are quite a few places to beach dive from like Sebastian inlet but I also have a boat so we're good.
(And yes, I'm doing something with my ladder...)
    I already see it coming...

I have been fishing and diving Ponce and Canaveral for 10+ years. I need some new dive friends. My old group just is not as passionate about it
anymore. I would like to find a small group of regulars to dive once or twice a month. My boat / your boat...
How do we get this group started???

I'm going to pick up my regulator today as a matter of fact, just had it rebuilt. Ola should have her 5 mm wetsuit in a few days and we'll start getting back in the water

Here's a couple of pics from Blue grotto and the rainbow river.
Ola was on her dive certification at both places that weekend.
Blue grotto is a great place to jump in and test your gear and familiarize yourself with diving if you haven't been in a while.
Rainbow river is a full 80 cf tank drift dive. Snorkel the shallow spots and conserve your air for the deeper spots.
Both have rules and fees so check out the websites

We'll be diving a lot more frequently now that I have 5 divers in the group and a couple of boats to dive from.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the other divers in the group. Me and my wife are both certified and always up for an adventure (as long as we can find a babysitter for our 4 daughters, 6mo, 4yrs, 8yrs, and 16yrs). We have our basic open water certification but plan to do our advanced very soon. I have several boats for a variety of purposes. I also plan to do a freediving certification course early next year in Tampa, I'll be sure to make a post to invite any other members to join the same class. We also go to the keys frequently for lobstering and spend a lot of time in Crystal River / Homosassa for a variety of activities including summer scalloping. Always up for making friends and sharing in new adventures, and happy to pass along any info on my experiences, good or bad, lol.

I'm in lake Mary. I have dove a wreck off Daytona and seen some large bugs on some ledges. I want to go diving more next yr. I have a boat and so does my friend. Let me know when and where. Just went to west Palm about a month ago.

Nice! Wasn't sure if you could find bugs that far north, a fat lobster in the bag always makes any dive better!

Me and my wife signed up today for a free diving course. The course takes place at an Alachua dive shop and the dives will be done at Troy Springs, it's a 2.5 day course from January 20th to the 22nd. There's three spots left if any members our interested. It's through Emersion Free Diving. My current best static breath hold is 1min 30sec and 20' is about as deep as I've been, the course stops short of making promises but most participants make the 66' goal. I'll let you guys know how it works out and anyone interested is welcome to sign up.

  18. Anyone want to go diving in the next couple weeks? I will be in town and have always wanted to lobster and spearfish.

I'm bringing my dive gear with me this weekend to the campground in hopes of getting out to some of reefs and rubble piles out of ponce. We may run down to Sebastian inlet for a couple hours of shallow diving. It all depends on the weather.

  20. I will be in town the 2nd of January for about 2 weeks. I was hoping to do a dive with Sea Dogs out of New Smyrna as I will be staying in NSB. I also have a friend who has to do his 4 checkout dives for his open water certification and was going to go with Sea Dogs for the certification as well unless anyone has other dive operators that they recommend.

We will also be doing a ton of surf fishing and pier fishing while we are in town if anyone wants to fish with two USMC veterans who live to fish and dive let me know.
