Most members know that this is a FREE club and forum, what they don't know is that there are monthly bills that need to get paid each and every month. not to mention equipment replacement etc.

Now if you ever been on any other forums you would know that there are commercial advertising banners bogging down the speed of the forum, and other forums have a monthly or yearly fees.

I could easily charge members a signup fee, and a monthly membership fee, plus place commercial advertising on all forum pages etc... But I choose to keep our club and forum 100% free.

The up side to this is it make for clubs forum a more enjoyable experience for all. I think members would rather see banners with members photos of their catches on them, then commercial advertising.

The down side to this is, many members do not contribute money to help with the monthly bills. leaving me to pay for it all. We do have some great members that are starting to contribute and I take notice and keep track of their contributions and appreciate it, every little bit helps me out and helps to make our clubs forum a better place.

Our clubs new forum needs to be moved to a Dedicated VPS server soon, the costs of this is $100.00 per month; this will give us better bandwidth, quicker forum response time and better email server functions. Etc... I've been waiting to see if we get some contributors that set up a monthly contribution that will help with these costs.

We also have a forum developer on our payroll helping with all the smooth functionality of our clubs forum, his monthly fee is automatically transferred into his account monthly.

So this is why I put this camera up as a raffle to attempt for raise some funds.

I hope we sell all 50 raffles, if we do, I will do this more often.
