Titusville Pier Light Setup

This is my pier plugin, notice the extra receptacle at the plug, this isn't necessary
but can be quite handy as you may be sharing a plugin with a fellow shrimper, this is
the plug needed to access the piers powerNEMA L520 or L520P, 20amp, 125 volt, 3 prong twist plug

A 6 outlet power strip with a built in surge protector(circuit breaker) is needed to
plug all your lights in, and a 15 to 25 foot extension cord is good to have.


My present light design, these are a work in progress, need some modifications. Just make
sure they'll float and waterproof the bulb really good at the socket!!

25 foot cords will work but 50 foot are easier to setup, you can get 100 footers at Home Depot
for 16 bucks, cut them in half and add the necessary stuff to complete the light

The receptacles can be purchased at HD also


This is what most of the guy's use to waterproof the bulbs to the socket, it's also
really good for gluing parts together.
You can find these at most of the local flea markets, 2 bucks for 8 of them, there
7 inches long and I use them to secure all my cords to the pier railing and keep
them out from under foot
This is handy to have also for waterproofing the connections between the bulb socket and the cord

I use 75 watt standard finish light bulbs, they're quite a bit brighter than
the soft white bulbs.

 

Unfortunately, I'm grounded for awhile, probably be another 4 months or so before I can drive.

 

Sams pic. is the best way to go, it already has 3 standard grounded plugs and doesn't require any further work. Amazon also has one
with a single grounded receptacle but it's $10.99. Home Depot carries both of these there cheaper and there's no shipping. Good Luck
