My Lights in the Water....

that would depend on whether you are at the RRB or Oak hill etc...

at the RRB (No tide) space them out around the boat, about 8ft or so
at Edgewater etc... (string Current) same but it would also change upon the water conditions...

In general, look at your lights, you want to see the green glow, but not to much, just enough so you can see the shrimp...

keep your lights down about 7-8 ft or so...

I'm sure other members will also give there input...

The 10 - 2 -6 oclock triangle set up is so ew that it's going to take some tinkering to get it right. It works but gets them up close to the boat and you have very little time when they pop up to get them. It really spooks shrimp big time.

Personally, I would have chosen a different set up as a starting point than what the other site admin started with. My original idea was to create a stair step arrangement with lightwith a 10 12 2 arrangement and use the 12 clock position to blow them up over the 10 2 o'clock light positions, giving you more dip time. But this too is a new and yet untried set up.

Keep in mind the winter shrimp are nocturnal shrimp and will try their damndest to avoid light. If yo get them over the light field, they won't dive down onto the light field. The LEDgreenie trick is to sink the light deep enough so that the top of the light field does not significantly light the shrimp. The shrimp will see a dark zone over the light field, and swim directly over the light, smack dab over the middle of the disk.

Experiment a little, and post your findings so the rest of us can learn more. You can use the LEDgreenie light pattern to steer the shrimp where you want them to go, just takes some practice and curiosity. Good luck.

The above photos of me shrimping show that same pattern when I was shrimping in Edgewater on a friends small skiff... just a little tighter pattern because of the conditions that night...


However, I remember posting the below configuration on the other site and I got some static about it… But I do believe my below and above configuration both work well in fast current… I recommend trying them both... and see what works best for your shrimping style...

I will also post my RRB configuration as soon as I sketch a few…. I say a few, because if close to the RRB or away from it, I use a different pattern configuration, and many more of my "GatorTough" LED Tub Lighting… Sometimes three - five on one side of the boat and more on the other side of the boat… Yep, we work both sides of the boat at the same time...

For fishing Tie a weight onto the bottom and hang down over the side of the boat about 5 ft deep.

 

No, these are just for boats... for a bridge just use a rain bow pattern.
