Beach Racing Day at the Lighthouse

    February 19th, 2017

    10:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

Travel back in time and discover the wild and woolly roots
of Stock Car Racing during the
13th Annual Beach Racing Day at the lighthouse.

See historic beach racing cars from the Living Legends of Racing and talk with drivers, owners, and mechanics who risked life and limb in pursuit of the checkered flag on the World's Most Famous Beach.

Meet and listen to Sirius XM's 24-7 NASCAR Satellite Radio Channel 90's "Chocolate" Myers speaks live at 11:30 AM. Myers, a color commentator for ESPN, was featured in the "Smokey and the Bandit" film series. Myers, the "gas-man" for the late Dale Earnhart's #3 GM Goodwrench, worked for Richard Childress Racing for twenty years.

At 1:00 PM, the Lighthouse will present William P. Lazarus, author of Sands of Time, the definitive history of beach racing, who will talk with fans and sign his book.

Please Contact: Mary Wentzel, Programs Manager by email at mwentzel@ponceinlet.org or by phone at (386) 761-1821 ext. 18 for details.
