My mother won $65,000 catching 2 of those in a fishing tournament on Crescent Lake, in Crescent City FL. Not to mention they taste so good!

I must admit I have never seen one of those before. What is it? Sorry for my stupidity

Crappie is a freshwater pan-fish. One of the best tasting fish I ever ate. They're everywhere in Florida. One of my favorite places to go to catch them is Lake Woodruff in Deland. Best time to catch them in in cooler temps. You can catch them using minnows but the way to catch them in big numbers is to troll with a few rods using Eagle Claw Crappie Jigs. Where on the lake are they? look for all the boats huddled in one area. That's where they'll be.

I just wanted to add that Crappie, and Specks are the same fish.
