I hadn't hunted turkeys in 6 or 7 years but I was trimming fruit trees a while back and had one gobbling off in the woods and it got my heart beating pretty good so I decided to buy a tag. I had given my decoys and calls to one of my boys when I quit hunting them so I went to Academy and picked up a Primos call kit and a Avian X breeder hen decoy. Season started last Wednesday but Friday morning was the first chance I got to hunt. My season didn't last long! About an hour. LOL Also found some morel mushrooms to go with it.

Great job bagging your bird! Has to be satisfying getting out there and bringing one in.
I haven’t been turkey hunting much but do have a lot of them up on my property in N GA. Just not as motivated to go after them like I am during deer season. Maybe next spring will be the year I get serious.
Thanks for posting about your success.
