Gator Hunt 10/16/2015

Called Zak “ZakAttack” and Pat “GatorTrout” to see if they wanted to go gator hunting and to experience an Airboat ride and a Gator Hunt on the water... of course he said sure...

Zak showed up at my house at 4:00 PM and we than went to meet Pat in Titusville, we than headed out to happy hunting grounds...


We got to the ramp where Member Jim was waiting for us with his Air boat, and after we packed up our gear we headed out to the Gator Grounds where they were waiting for us...

We took the long Air Boat ride to our Gator Hunting Spot, it wasn’t long that we found the lucky Gator to get invited home for supper....

We has a lucky winner come along, although not the biggest out there, we decided to get the Skunk out of the boat and get some Gator Tail in the boat...

I had Pat gently bring the gator to the air boat where I was waiting to harpoon it, as soon as it was next to the boat I sunk a harpoon tip into the gator so we than had it secured. Then a few minutes later I sunk another harpoon tip into the gator, and we needed to use a treble hook to hook it to turn it around so I could get a clean shot with the bang stick into its skull…

As Zak and Pat was holding that gator in place I got a good clean shot into its skull, but we felt we needed to get another round to finish the job, the second round was a misfire shell, so we reloaded and got another good shot and finished it off.

I reached down grabbing the Gator under its jaw pulling his head over the side of the Air Boat, Zak and I took some good photos, and these are mine below.

Thanks Jim for offering to take us on his Air Boat, and Zak and Pat for coming and assistance with the Gator Hunt… It was a good Club TEAM effort...
