Clamming 101 Canaveral Seashore Class 3-30-2018

    I was just asking about the current status of clams in the Lagoon since the yellow and brown algae blooms. The NPS Canaveral Seashore was having another clamming 101 class this very morning 3-30-2018. This was timely! I called and they said the class was cancelled due to the speaker going in for emergency surgery.
    They do not know when or if the class will be rescheduled.
    I drove down to parking lot #7 to see how many people showed up for the talk. There were 10 people there who had just emerged from the water with buckets and clam rakes after scratching around the area. They had found no clams! Here is a picture of one guy scratching for clams.
