    Pretty quiet around here.

Got the Cwd test results back for Mule deer, negative. Means we can eat it.

GA lease is getting clear cut. Got 2 trips planned. Should get a few, just not as much fun when you hunt and listen to machinery. Deer shouldn't care too much.

Great news about your mule deer. That would have been a real bummer if it had come back positive.
I’ve been on leases that have been cut over in the past. Always turned out to be less of a problem that we thought it was going to be. Continued to see the same number or maybe even more deer the following year, just not as pretty or the type terrain I prefer to hunt. I’ve been within sight of the guys cutting the pines at my friends farm before. Was interesting to watch the curious deer come in along the edges and stand around watching all the activity.

Agree. It might be the best hunt yet but least enjoyable with all the banging and clanking going on.

Planned to do some hunting this week in N GA Since it’s my last chance this year, but I have Wussed-out so far. Have become a lazy fair weather hunter in my old age. After the two I got during bow season I guess I don’t have the motivation required since I don’t really need more in the freezer. Rained most of Monday and Tuesday. Planned to hit it this morning but it was 22 deg and blowing at about 12mph. I’ll shame myself into getting out tomorrow and Friday mornings though...
I noticed while walking the dog this morning that I have a small buck working a rub line along the edge of our drivewaygreenSmiley Laughing2::2
You can see our cabin up the hill in the background in a couple pics. Maybe I’ll get lucky and have a bigger one walk by me on the ridge behind us tomorrow.

Looks like a great cabin. You have the best of both worlds! Salt water to fish in one back yard and mountains and woods to hunt in the other yard. You have done something right living the dream like that! Good luck on staying warm looking for your antlered friends.

Well Mark you have to look at it like this, one in the hand is better than two in the bush. I've tried boiling up that antler stew before, and it doesn't have much taste at all. I think that you just need to stick with whatever offers the opportunity. GOOD LUCK!
