    Finally is a 8' medium heavy spinning rod rated for up to 25# line. Planning an okuma abf 90 with 30# power pro.
    So my question is what size leaders should I use on these? Should I use mono or flour? Do they sound like good setups? I'll be fish in southwest Florida Charlotte harbor area for anything I can catch. Any and all info and advice I can get is much appreciated.

    Depends on what kind of fishing.....surf, jetty, pier.......and what type of bottom.....sand, rocks, snags........but a generic leader would be 20 to 30 lb mono. I've tried flouro and really did not notice any difference

    Bruce sometime gets it right! LOL smiley-laughing001.gif

    From my boat, I use;
    20lb most of the time... except for Red Drum then I use 40lb
    for inshore fish...
    I use 10" - 12" leader for Convicts, the shorter is better for them... with a 30lb leader...
    and longer 3ft - 5ft leader for Mangrove Snapper... and other inshore fish...

    Always us a swivel... and Slip sinker... so you can feel the fish bite easier and so the fish does not feel the sinker...

    Offshore is another story...

I've only really fished freshwater so I find myself thinking my gear isn't adequate for saltwater fishing. I've seen bait big enough to pass as a trophy here:)
