Lowrance HDS7 Gen 2 Touch - Yamaha Engine Interface Install
Received my Lowrance Yamaha interface cables today and will be in installing them on the next dry day we get. it will display all the engine data through the Lowrance HDS7 Tough.
Engine Connection for NMEA 2000® Messages
The Yamaha has the ability to output engine data with an interface connection to an outboard NMEA
2000 network of the Lowrance HDS7 Touch.

This data can be viewed on the Lowrance HDS7 Touch multifunction display.
    My install is below

So I'm not the only one who got rained out. I have everything ready to go. Got up early this morning to do the install just to find it raining and it lasted most of the day.
    Friday it goes in.

Took most of the day to do the install
    Finished up around 2 PM
and 4:30 PM to learn how to set it up...

OK I learned how to set up the different screens...
    everything is working great now...

My engine hours displays the total engine hours on one of the screens I set up.. No need to go buy a $170.00 Yamaha hour gauge...

I only have around 160 hrs on my motor, which was the reason I installed the Yamaha Engine Interface, was so my Lowrance would display my engine hours...

NOTE: To get the engine trim gauge working, I needed to jump two wires together than it started to send a signal to the Lowrance from the motor and the trim gauge is now working. you will also need to set it up in the settings.

The Engine trim gauge is the blue gauge to the left of the display below.

To install the Lowrance in your dash, and the Interface cabling and transducers it will take you more than a days time...

We will soon find out, maybe I work slowly, it took me a full day to get the wiring installed and set up the unit... for the Lowrance interface.

When I installed the Lowrance unit, I needed to cut out the dash to install the Lowrance HDS7 Gen 2 Touch
I also needed to install a fuse panel
and connect the wiring to the panel which all took be over a day...

I have to cut out the dash but the fuse pane is there. Run the transducer and the interface cable and set up the nmea 2000 kit.
Did you use a gasket when you mounted the head unit in the dash?
I stopped at bass pro yesterday and they didn't have the kit or any gasket material.
I also picked up a spare tire rack for my trailer that will get installed when I get home.

I did not want to use the fuse panel of the boat, so I put in a separate one
your interface kit will take longer then you think to run the wiring through the motor and boat
I hooked the power from the interface cables to a switch then to the fuse panel, or it will run down you batteries, (I know you have a battery switch) but if you forget to turn your switch off, then you battery will run down some... plus there is no need to have it on all the time...
it will also take you longer then you think to figure out the setting
I did not use a gasket and no water gets behind it
there will also be runs to the store to pick up some stuff you do not have, Murphys law..
keep my tire in my truck LOL

you will have fun doing it LOL
