Saw lots of cool stuff up the creek on Saturday morning. Brought the good camera, but was to busy saying, " isn't that cool ", to dig it out of the bag for any pics. Had a deer, turkey, bobcat and manatee checking us out. Think the Manatee thought the boat was his mamma. He hung around rubbing on the hull and the motor for over an hour. Caught a bunch of snappers and a couple of Reds. I think the snapper are growing. Most were 9.75" and fat. Maybe they will be 10.25" soon. Also had a couple prisoners. No snook this time. Used up 100 shrimp by 11:00 called it a day. chuck red.jpg Manatee.jpg

Nice red. How many did you get? That poor manatee has been hanging too close to boats for awhile now...look at the prop scars on his/her back.

Only got a few Red's. The Manatees up there come up to the boat every time we fish there. The little manatee really wasn't scared up at all. Life in Thompsons Creek with no jet skies and all of it being a slow speed /no wake zone makes it a pretty safe place. Also saw a mother with a 3 foot long calf that just sat on top of the water as a kayak went by them 6 feet away. The whole family of Manatees in there are as tame as the family dog.
