    Spent a hot day in the sun. Slow on the reef. Small mahi but not big enough. Fast action at one of our mangrove holes on the way in.

    they are gorgeous. First mahi out of the tin boat.

    they were all over the place, looked for bigger ones but no success there.

    I know we should have drug some lures around there. Did throw bait chunks and nothing came up.

    Still waiting for the day I run up on a school. I’ve only picked them off on the troll. I did have a school explode in my spread one time in 120ft out of port Canaveral, however, only hooked up on one and by the time I landed him I went back around and never found the school.

    They typically are hanging around weed mats or will just pop up under the boat if you stop.

    thats what happened here. I stopped to rig our bottom rods and wife says mahi…
