2018 SALT WATER SPORTSMAN NATIONAL SEMINAR SERIES

America’s legendary salt water fishing seminar tour takes to the road for year 31

The Salt Water Sportsman National Seminar Series, the nation’s most popular and longest-running seminar tour on recreational marine fishing tactics and techniques, heads to eight major cities in 2018: Fort Myers (FL), Hampton (VA), Myrtle Beach (SC), Islamorada (FL Keys), Long Island (NY), Bridgeport (CT), Atlantic City (NJ), and Daytona Beach (FL).

What’s the secret to packing auditoriums going on 31 years? “It’s the amount of cutting edge information we dispatch at each stop”, says National Seminar Series host George Poveromo. “The purpose of having nationally-recognized angling authorities and leading local pros at each seminar location is to provide the short cuts to catching more and bigger fish within the waters of the respective seminar regions. Regardless of one’s level of experience, be it beginner, intermediate or advanced, they’ll learn where to go, the best lures and baits, and – most importantly – the subtleties and adjustments our pros employ to keep on top of the fish and the strikes coming. The fact that the tour enters into its 31st year of touring is its best endorsement.”

HOW IT WORKS - Poveromo will be joined at each stop by a minimum of nine additional faculty members, a varied mix of highly-acclaimed national, regional and local angling pros. Four faculty members will take the stage for each panel, each highly skilled on their topic. Together, they’ll discuss locating the target species, the right tides and conditions, approaches, specific rigs, lure and bait selections, presentations, as well as hooking, fighting and landing strategies. “The uniqueness of our Team-Teaching concept is that the audience will hear several different ways on how our pros catch their specialty fish”, says Poveromo. “It’s an overflow of vital fishing information and it certainly isn’t boring, given some of the personalities of our faculty members!” Inshore, near shore and offshore fishing will be covered at each stop, all saltwater.

PRIME VENUES - The National Seminar Series is an elaborate, highly-visual production held in luxurious auditoriums and ballrooms, to ensure comfort and quality acoustics. Each session spans 30-minutes and is supported by informative images, diagrams, video bytes and on-stage demonstrations; These visuals are specifically tailored to each session to help reinforce the critical points being discussed on stage, and broadcast from a pair of 10-foot by 10-foot screens. The seminars are held on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3 pm. There is a one-hour lunch break at noon.

THE SWAG! – In addition to five hours of fishing instructions from some of the best pros in the business, attendees will receive a brand new Seminar Series textbook, a one year subscription or extension to Salt Water Sportsman, one Roffer’s Ocean Fishing Forecast Analysis, a bottle of OrPine Wash & Wax, Star tron fuel treatment, Star brite Xtreme Clean, Corrosion Block, a $ 10.00 Bass Pro Shops discount card (on a purchase of $ 75.00 or more) and chances to win valuable door prizes. DOOR PRIZES – Throughout each seminar day, drawings will be held for thousands-of-dollars’ worth of door prizes. These items include lures, fishing pliers, Bass Pro Shops gift cards, Columbia Sportswear, Papa’s Pilar Rum, Yeti coolers, Penn reels, dredges, King Sailfish mounts, JL Audio components, etc.

EVEN BIGGER DOOR PRIZES – At the conclusion of each of the eight seminar stops, there will be a drawing for a Florida Keys fishing trip with a noted Florida Keys fishing guide, accommodations included.

THE WALL HANGER! – And keeping with Seminar Series tradition, at the conclusion of the eighth and final stop on the 2018 tour, the names of all attendees will be placed into a barrel, and one ticket will be randomly drawn to win the Super Grand Prize Mako ProSkiff 17 CC.

AFTER SEMINAR PARTIES – To help celebrate a full day of learning and provide an opportunity for attendees to socialize with George Poveromo and various other faculty members, there will be an After Seminar Party from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the local Bass Pro Shops. A Seminar Series name badge is required to enter the special party area at the Bass Pro Shops. Here, seminar attendees will enjoy complimentary food, drinks and live music. Each registered attendee is entitled to bring one guest to an After Seminar Party. All but the Long Island, NY, seminar will feature an After Seminar Party in 2018 (there’s no Bass Pro Shops close to that seminar venue).
