Besides a Gator Harpoon, Crossbow, I wanted to use Treble hooks to cast and hook the gator, and no local stores had any in stock so I decided to make some until I can order some online...

I tried to weld them and even on the lowest setting, the hooks melted....

So I made a mold out or wood and poured lead over the hooks making a weighted treble Gator Rig...

Looks good! Another option - we made our own using a "mold" of sugar sand and stood the treble straight up and down, then poured the lead into the hole made by your thumb under the hook...so the lead sits underneath the treble and doesn't affect the clearance and when you wind the hook is usually straight up and down. There's more than one way to do it and every gator hunter has their preference. Let us know how they turn out (or I guess we'll see from the filled tags!)
