Should be out shrimping in 2 weeks, then have 2 weekends of shrimping. Been years since I've gone but the ladies always love to go shrimping. It's fun sitting back having a beer, watching the girls dipping and chattering over shrimp. LOL!

Somehow I got my hands on a frame net. Never used one - how much of a hassle will it be? Looks like its already set up but cha never know. Likely to use it if we can get on a pick of shrimp.

Sounds like a good time. Hope you get in a thick stream of them every trip. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. That frame net should do the trick if you get the right spot.

It is more work for sure. I have used it several times. It shines on nights they are moving deep and fast. There have been times that it has produced more than I have dipped. With that said there has been nights that it was not worth it. Any time there is debris flowing through it gets caught in the net and makes a heavy mess to pull in.

One thing to keep in mind you might have to upsize your anchors. In a strong current it can pull you off anchor if they are not big enough.

I bring it with me every time and deploy it once for every two or three trips. When it works for me it is a great tool.

I helped a friend clean his once…. Can be challenging when lots of weeds and debris are moving down with the current. It’s worth it if you get lots, but you never know.

Hope you get some jumbos. Nothing like a relaxing evening of shrimping. Please post some pics of your trips.

Ha ha. I’ve got a friend down from N GA this week. Supposed to be fishing with me every day. Told me this morning he wouldn’t be coming over until after lunch. “Too cold. May as well be back in the mountains.”
Jeez.:knocking my head: It was 60 at 6:30.

Sister has arrived. She called me, told me they had their fishing licenses for Fri-Sun and asked me to pick up a new reel for her hubby on my way over. Got a feeling this girl aint gonna mess around like my cousin's wife did. We're already set for fishing tomorrow and she wants to shrimp. It's in the blood - has to be.

Hoping the tides are okay - will check tide tonight and see where it is about 9 pm. Hopefully flowing out.

Good luck. The tide was crazy low today. Had to paddle over a mile as the pedal drives had to be pulled up.

The joys of the ICW! Depends on the winds, amazing what a certain wind direction can do.

Was planning to check the tide before shrimping.

so did you ever make it out? I'm hoping to get the boat back in the water this weekend and would to know how the shrimp are flowing

I posted reports in the fishing and shrimping areas.

we either missed the tide or the shrimp were running lightly. Caught some fish, nothing crazy.

That is a bummer. I have not seen a lot of good reports but when I went last month I got about a gallon.
