To all you would be captains or captains who need to renew. I just renewed my 100 ton master license. I used a third party who is a former coast guard officer. He shepherds your application thru the process, which can be daunting. He charges a fee for his services. He got my renewal done in four weeks. Well worth the piece of mind knowing you have an advocate.

If anyone is interested in his services PM me and I’ll give you his info.

They don't make it easy that's for sure. I let mine expire years ago when they started that TWIC crap. It's all about paying fees and jumping through hoops.

The Twic card is no longer needed for renewal. They use that as your original background check.
Only needed if working in a port for renewal
