Snap-Zilla Offshore Report 5/6/2014 my Personal Best.

    Caught my Personal Best Snap-Zilla…

Headed to the ramp by 5AM, out of the inlet at 5:30AM

I was cruising at around 28 MPH then Stopped to take some cool Sunrise photos…

The ride was great, the seas were flat,

I Stopped at a reef for some live bait about 18 miles out, was catching 2,3,4,and 5s at a time, topped off my live well with enough live bait for the day, in only ½ hr.

Then headed out to around 20 miles or so, found some nice structure and caught some nice large Red Snappers, I then headed out to around 24 plus miles caught some more Large Red Snappers… I Moved to another location south of East Ridge and Caught my personal best Snap-Zilla, Had to take out my scale, he topped off my Scale which only goes to 40 Lbs, so he was 40ish, and he was around 35 inches

Took some catching bait Video footage and got some video footage of some Giant Red Snappers in action…

I was luckily enough to be able to turn on the GoPro during the Snap-Zilla fight… This guy was a fighter, bent the heck out of my heavy duty rod, and with me leaning on the side of the boat, fighting him with both hands on the rod, and line peeling out a number of times, this guy made my back feel the pain…

I was lucky to have been able to put the GoPro on my head and turn it on with one hand, because I lost a few others earlier trying to do this… Pole bending, fish diving, putting the rod in my belt gamble, rod bent, holding the rod with one hand, then trying to hold on and put the GoPro on my head, and turn it on, this was not an easy task… I wish I had video of my trying to do that… LOL

    Here are a few pics…

Need to stop and take a few Sunrise Shots...

Stopped to catch some live bait...

    Topped off live well

Some Snap Shots of Some nice Snappers

Some Double Handed action form the GoPro

    Hooked him in the Fin...

    Water was very clear

Trying out a new camera, with video, and flex tripod...

Still need to get used to the settings...

    Snap-Zilla on his way up

    Now he is LOL

    Still putting up a fight

    Still kicking

    Hes a fat boy

    Huge Mouth

    He's a Beast

The ride back to port was also nice

Isn't that something? Kinda shallow for dolphin. I'll take em all day like that.
