Has anyone ever tried shrimping on the 405 bridge In Titusville? Was wondering if that would be alternative to the railroad bridge? Seams RRB gets crowded from time to time and hate to be stacked up on other boaters. Been through that area flats fishing before just never tried shrimping it. Or if they allow it there.

Too wide open, the bottle necks are the trick.

They run through there during certain times of the year. It's just a matter of picking the right times and conditions

Thanks for the info. Thought about trying it some time for the hell of it. Open water there isn't much bigger than RRB. Figured if the shrimp are running they are not just at the RRB. Exspecially if RRB is crowded or on a weekend gives an alternative. I'm not big on fighting for a spot in a crowded area. I'd rather blank and try a new spot than be fighting for a spot.

It's always worth a shot sarge, just about anywhere you can set your traps up next to a piling can be good also, I was at the Tville pier 1 night
and some women told me to set my traps at the corners and down the sides of the main pilings and was pleasantly surprised when I ended
up with about a gallon and a half for the evening 2/3 rds of it came from the traps. I wasn't expecting much if anything from the traps.

I am interested in alternative sites as well. It seems to me that if you can set up on the edge of the channel up and down the river, there should be a chance of getting shrimp. I hope to do my own experimenting soon.

I was recently told by some locals that they do get them there but it's a well guarded secret. Shoosh Smiley Emoticon1::1

I tried it twice last year around March I believe. Both times I saw and caught a few shrimp. Nothing crazy. I'd definitely say there's shrimp that swim through there though. Who knows how much or what strategy to use. I believe they were a little smaller though. Not the railroad/haulover type.
