    Cool, I need to get some ice picks and give this a try Thumbsup1:::1

    stick in brain

    Cut both gills to bleed

    rinse blood out in bucket of salt water

    stick spine with long BBQ skewer

    We bled our Salmon in the great lakes like this (added the tail slice after watching Wicked Tuna)
    I'm guessing that the ice pick to the brain doesn't help the fish taste better, but helps the angler feel better about slicing up a fish that's still alive.

  10. I bleed every thing in a bucket of saltwater. I slice the gills and let it bleed out then into ice

    you need to watch the video, you need to Brain kill it so the blood don't flow throughout the meet..

    I just want to say that since I read the post on here about the proper way to kill a fish. I have been using this method and I can tell a huge difference in the taste of the fish. Tastes much cleaner and will keep longer in the fridge. Also, I can tell the fish doesn't suffer like the old suffocation method.

    So thank you shrimpnfishslorida for the very helpful info.
