We rented a beautiful house in Ozello fl. Ozello is a secluded island located in the midst of the mangrove Islands about 5 miles south of Ft Island boat launch. It is a bit of a winedy drive out to no where. The boat launch was within walking distance of the house. Although nice it is not real steep. High tide put about an inch of water over most of the parking lot. Plotted the trechores course to the Gulf useing Goggle Earth, and a little help from some locals. Definitely not a place for big boats. Thursday we collected about 5 gallons. Friday we limited out with the four of us on the boat. Saturday only 3 of us went out another 5 gallons. Sunday we did a half day for another 4 gallons. We didn’t limit every day but it was a fun time. We need a couple young kids to help us old folks out. Watching the sunrise from the porch drinking coffee was a highlight.

We were there the same dates last year. Had a group of 4 boats. At least 2 of the 4 limited out within 4 hours each day. Others not so good depending location scalloped. Deeper was better much much more work and no good for the younger scallopers. We took the grandkids on our boat a couple of days and stayed shalloe 2-3 feet would get 5-7 gals in 4 - 5 hours

Glad you had a good time! We were there a little later in the season, but still did alright. Found that they were def a little deeper than usual, too. Crystal river’s always nice. We usually stay more towards Kings Bay and like to stop at 3 sisters on the way back in to cool off and take a jump from the small bridge, lol.
