    After giving surf fishing a break for awhile we decided to get up early and try some surf fishing.

    After obtaining the usual 5 dozen fds from the bait shop we arrived on the beach about 620am to a beautiful first light and cooler temps.

    Since low tide would be about 9am we cast out fds in close and far. There were some small waves so the water was cloudy. As usual there were no sand fleas.

    There were some tiny baitfish in the water and we saw a skimmer make a pass at them.

    Our catch for the day was 2 whiting. We had a hit from a pretty big shark but it rolled and cut the 50lb braid main line after a short fight.

    We left about nine thirty and it felt like fall was near.
