A little late on the post. Crazy time of year with the holidays. I was joined by my buddy Scott and Alan for the trip. Chilly start. The forcast was supposed to be 1-2' and 5-10kts. Lets just say they missed the mark a little. Lol. Windy and choppy as soon as we got a few miles off. It worsened as we made our way out 20 miles.

The day started with multiple king bites coming from the top and bottom. They were everywhere. We released several before catching some fish for the cooler. Not a great day but pretty good in my book. Ended up with 5 nice lanes, 3 mangos, spanish mac, and a trigger. Lots of short triggers. We had frozen sardines and squid. I used grunt chunks most of the day. I lost a nice fish I would have loved to have seen. Good size and did not feel like a ARS.

Conditions got pretty rough around noon so we started heading back hitting a few spots along the way. Ready for some better weather! 20181224_150557.jpg

That’s not too bad of a day at all. Glad to see you got a chance to wet some lines. Did better that my west coast trip. Lol. Thanks for the report.

Looks like more than enough of a bite to keep everyone happy. Good variety in your catch. Bet the Kings were fun. Maybe the big one you missed will give you another try next trip.:knocking my head:

Nice report Mike. Seems like the weatherman lies quite a bit around these parts. Man, if I was wrong as often as those guys, I'd be out of a job.
I've talked to several fishermen who say that the kingfish bite has been on fire at the party grounds and elsewhere for the last couple of weeks.
    Come on calm weather!
Thanks for the report and enjoy the fillets.

It was a great day of fun and the bites were pretty constant all day long. Thanks for the ride Mike!

Looks like a good day of fishing to me. It would be nice if you could keep one or two of those red snapper that grab your bait before anything else can.

Nice I am hoping to get out Sunday. Were you fishing live bottom? Can I ask if you were at the Party grounds? I am trying to figure out whether I am going to Mango hole or will closer be ok. I really just want any food fish.

Nice going Mike, I missed this one also, but looks like you three had a pretty fair day for choppy seas. Thanks for the report.

Is East 11 the same as Site 11 East ?

No. It is south of the party grounds by around 7 miles. Around 20 miles from the inlet.

Glad I could help. I really like that line of natural bottom. Party grounds, east 11, turtle mound, etc. That is pretty much what I fish every trip if conditions allow a run that far.

I am ready for a break in the weather to give it a go!
