Awesome....If only I could learn how to do this...,I'd be catching bait fish and shrimp.

Good vid. I've been using casting nets since I was just a kid. I find that the 5' net is adequate for keeping on the kayak. I usually pull up on a sandbar when the tide isn't fully in yet. I typically catch a good supply of bait fish to use for several hours. Just dump them in the ol' bucket with my Bubble Box and I'm off fishin'. I Don't believe in buying bait. If you cant catch it with a net, your fishing is gonna suck anyway. Just sayin'

Thanks, Sam. I almost had the same way of doing it, just wasn't grabbing enough of the hanging part just before throwing. This will save me some frustration.

As the video shows - practice in the yard! Practice makes perfect!

  7. Better on the net until you get proficient and you can really see the splay of the net also. Good advice.

FishingFool nailed it. It takes practice, practice, practice .
I have a 4', 8' and 12' net. I learned by watching others in person and videos online.
I made small adjustments until I starting getting full nets in the yard.
